Edwin Rem
At the age of 14 I started to photograph nature close to my home. My favorite subjects were birds and insects, but later on other subjects and landscapes caught my attention as well. To share experiences with nature photography and to develop more skills I founded a photo club together with some friends. The club, NFO Heerhugowaard is still active with joint exhibitions, excursions and evaluating each others work.
My first publication was in the german Yearbook Nature Photography 1987-88, edited by Frits Polking. Since then several publication followed in Grasduinen magazine and the german magazine NaturFoto. Also some pictured were awarded in international photo competitions, for exemple a first prize at the Argus photo competition.
My main goal is to produce aesthetic and eloquent images that emphasize the beauty of nature surrounding us. Also being outside and enjoying nature provides a good antidote to a busy office job. More of my work can be found at Nature in Stock:
